OUR STONE COTTAGE
Stone Cottage at DE RUST – Hideaway is a nature-immersed retreat tucked into the quiet valley of Hout Bay.
Built from stone and shaped by the landscape, the cottage rests in privacy, surrounded by indigenous greenery and natural stillness — yet only minutes from the village below.
Designed for comfort, calm, and restoration, the space blends raw stone craftsmanship, organic textures, and warm, considered details. Here, days unfold slowly, wandering nearby forest or mountain paths, or resting with a book as light moves across the valley.
When you feel like exploring, the iconic Chapman’s Peak Drive begins just moments away, offering one of the most beautiful coastal routes into Cape Town.
Pristine beaches, including Llandudno, one of the region’s most breathtaking shorelines, are close by — easy to reach, yet far enough to return to complete stillness.
DE RUST offers a place to disconnect without feeling isolated — where guests feel held by nature, supported by thoughtful design, and free to arrive, reset, and leave with renewed clarity.
OUR STUDIO
Hidden within the lush Hout Bay valley, the two-storey Studio at DE RUST Hideaway is designed for slow living, creativity, and deep rest.
Surrounded by trees and natural greenery, the space blends warm textures, organic materials, and minimal design across two levels, creating an atmosphere that feels both grounding and quietly inspiring. Sunlight filters through the trees during the day, shifting softly across the space as the valley changes around it.
Upstairs, the sleeping space opens into the treetops, while downstairs offers a calm, intimate setting for slow mornings, quiet afternoons and evenings spent close to nature.
Though tucked away in the valley, the Studio is only minutes from Hout Bay village, mountain trails and some of Cape Town’s most beautiful beaches.
Chapman’s Peak Drive and the Atlantic coastline are close enough to explore, before returning to the quiet of DE RUST.
A small space with a strong sense of place made for slowing down, switching off, and letting the outside world feel a little further away.
